2022 is a bit of an odd year for Halloween Hot Wheels. The good news is
they spruced up the cards. Usually, there is a single card back that's used
for that year's Halloween line. This year, each card showcases the specific vehicle.
The bad news is this a year of re-releases. While some cars have
come back into the mix with different paint schemes before, they just straight
up re-used cars from previous years! I wish I'd dug into this before I opened
them because it would saved me some time taking photos of them.
Not going to lie, this is kind of a kick to the ol' Halloween jewels. The
Halloween Hot Wheels are one of the things I look forward to the most every
year and re-releasing the exact same ones sucks some of the fun out of it. I
may just order another set to have carded, otherwise there's no difference from the ones previously released.
Another interesting thing they've done this year is with the bubble. Normally,
it's just formed around the car and while that's still true, the Halloween
releases all have this rectangle around them as well. It does make it look a little nicer. Since these are straight repacks, there's not really a reason to open them if you've been collecting them over the years.

Scorcher is a re-release from the 2017 Happy Halloween series. You can read
what I thought of it back then in this
2017 blog post.

Man, that sucks. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come with next year or the Christmas/winter ones this year!
