LEGO 40203 - Vampire & Bat

LEGO has been doing some fun little Halloween sets for the past few years. While I prefer the ones that have a scene and a minifig or two, I have to admit this one is pretty cool.

I'm really happy that LEGO started recognizing Halloween as an opportunity to get out a themed gift set every year. Like most holiday sets, this one retails for $10...if you can find one! When I went in to my LEGO store early September, there was only one on the shelf. And doing a quick search, it looks like people are hoping to cash in on him.

We'll start with the vampire's trusty sidekick...or maybe it's the vampire himself in bat form? This little guys is pretty cute with his big eyes. His wings are hinged so you can make him flap around the crypt to look for a snack.

Not surprisingly, they managed to put some great detail into the vampire himself. There's a streak of white hair, pointy ears, clawed hands, and the bow tie and ruffle on his shirt! Even the eyebrows are a genius touch.

You can almost see the bat poking his head up, "Hey! Down here!"

Blah, blah, blah!

It might be too late by the time you read this, but if you're even remotely interested in this set you should probably rush out to get one. You might luck out and still be able to find him in the LEGO shop online.
