LEGO Set 40090 Halloween Bat

I found this little guy at my local LEGO store yesterday and just had to bring him home.
If you don't have a store nearby, you can also get him online.

LEGO 40090 Halloween Bat

With no more Monster Hunters on the shelves, I think this is as much Halloween as we'll be seeing from LEGO this year. Here he is with his wings wrapped around his body.

One of the really neat things with this bat is they gave him (or her?) some articulation! Granted it's not a lot but the ears and feet are hinged. The feet swing down so that if you had someway to hang the bat upside down, as bats do, it could look like the feet were holding on.

The wings have some nice movement to them as well being double hinged. The bat also comes with a little pumpkin which is something they didn't have to put in but helps make the set that much more Halloween-y.

Remember just a few seconds ago when I said it looks like this would be all the LEGO Halloween? Well, I just checked the site to get the link for the bat and found this:

It's a nice little spooky set. The vampire looks a little different from the ones that were available with the Haunted House Monster Hunters set or the one that came in the blind bag series. And I am digging the coffin with the chains and tiny padlock. I'm not sure if this one is available in LEGO stores, but you can also get it through LEGO online.

Before you head off to your next house, swing by Halloween Mixes.
They're posting a themed mix album every day of the month!

And of course, check out all the other folks participating in the Countdown to Halloween!

  1. That's a fun little LEGO bat set! I really like the use of cheese-wedge pieces to make the pumpkin. Where did you get this set?

Whoa, that vampire set is cool! That coffin is beautiful.

This is one more Halloweenesque set your forgetting, Spooky Girl from 71007 Minifigure Series 12, just released this October.

    1. Found it in the LEGO store up by the registers.

Ha, I actually grabbed a series 12 too trying to get her but got an old timey miner instead. Definitely need to get her!

    1. Was it a polybag set? I have one from a few years ago when they were doing a build event at WalMart, not sure if it's the same one.

  3. Cute bat! I may need to track it down.

Target has Batman's Batwing minikit polybag in their Halloween toy area now - it's kind of Halloweeny, I suppose.

I found a Series 12 Ghoul girl too - she's awesome - she'll be making an appearance on my blog later this month :)

    1. I saw the Batwing. Would have been nice to get a more Halloween themed LEGO set, but oh well.
