You might remember a couple months ago I posted about The Order of the Thinned Veil membership package. The second half arrived last week and while it's not quite as much stuff it more than makes up for it with the quality!
And with the Harbingers of Halloween, the monster cereals, on shelves it
And with the Harbingers of Halloween, the monster cereals, on shelves it
Just as before, it arrives in a plain white box that turns into a Halloween party when you open it.
What lies inside?
Let's see!
Starting from the left is a print by Sam Heimer called "Oak Heart" done in a cut-paper art style. Next to that are a pair of postcards. The bottom one is "Taunt" by Matthew Kirshct featuring a naughty black cat stealing a pumpkin head. I absolutely adore his vintage style. Above that is "Lantern Jack" by Joe Keinberger. Lantern Jack is the central figure in the Thinned Veil mythos.
Speaking of...
This 4.75" figure is of the legendary Lantern Jack. He's holding a bat-winged Jack O'Lantern. He comes with two accessory pieces: a group of minion Jacklings and his gravestone. It came bagged with card topper art by Sam Heimer. I always save these cards, how can you not?
Here's a peek at the backside of the pieces. The detail on the gravestone is fantastic with the vines and tiny pumpkins. This is the first in a series of Thinned Veil figures they'll be releasing so I'm pretty excited to see what else is coming!
Whenever I get a new addition to these figures I feel like it's time for an updated family portrait.
If you feel like you've missed out, you can head over to the Order of the Thinned Veil page and snag your own 2019 membership kit. There are three levels that go up in price. I went with the mid-level and it is totally worth it!
Cool figures. Creepy, but fun. Nice sculpting.
ReplyDeleteThat's part of why I love them!
