Movies
The sequel to the WNUF Halloween Special! I ordered this as soon as it went up but never got around to watching it. Luckily, creator Chris LaMartina is taking it on the road and I got so see it with an audience. I don't want to give anything away about it but I will say it's a blast from the 90s past! Highly recommend seeing it in a theater (or at least with a group) if you have the chance.

With a title like this, I completely expected this to be another bottom of the
barrel Amazon horror offering. Maybe it was my low expectations but I was very
pleasantly surprised! There's no wraparound with this anthology, just seven,
some funnier than other, horror shorts. Quite a bit of it felt like a weird
Goosebumps for adults by way of Troma. I don't think it'll make anyone's "best
of" list but I had a good time with it.

And on the other hand you have this one with a great premise (Horror geeks
starting a business giving tours of famous filming locations) but executed
poorly. I almost turned it off after the first 10 minutes due to the acting
but I could tell someone behind the camera has a love of horror so I gave it a
chance. The villains, the main characters, the kills...all boring.
Rating: 3/10
As the movie opened, I thought it was going to focus more on the Colonel and
was ready to stop watching. But you don't call it Elvis and get this actor and
not make it about Elvis! Austin Butler was a joy to watch. At 2.5+ hours, it
does drag a bit here and there. There's a couple of extremely short bits where
modern cover versions are injected and it yanked me right out of the movie
each time.

This is an interesting look back at American B movies from the classic
monsters (not enough time on these for me!) to exploitation flicks. Fun
speakers include the actress who played Vampira, Forry Ackerman, Dick Miller,
and Roger Corman.
This is one of those horror movies that has a major sense of dread hanging
over it throughout. I like getting one of these in every once in awhile,
there's just something about it that's almost a mental palette cleanser. They
use a lot of horror tropes you've probably seen before but the movie just has
a different vibe to it so they don't feel quite the same.

I can definitely see where the criticisms of it being too comedic are coming
from. When you have a God Butcher, that's probably the time to take it a
little darker. The humor didn't bother me overall but there were a few places
it got excessive like Thor's Van Damme moment. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I'm
kind of shocked how many times "shit/shitty" is said in this.

Tim Curry, I will always adore you and you're one of the best things in this
abomination but you were not destined to play Gomez Addams. Never in a million
years would I think Saban Entertainment would be involved with the Family.
This may have been direct to video but it reeks of Fox Kids in the worst way (horrendous CGI and Saturday morning sitcom antics) I think they got the sense of humor and tone of the characters right on the page but the execution was
sorely lacking. Except for Wednesday, who they absolutely did right by.
